Rochester Black Pride 2017 – Event Tickets

Rochester Black Pride is a vibrant & welcoming family-friendly event celebrating the history and creativity that is Black Queer Rochester; this event features a wide collection of merchants, performances, food and games all within a dedicated “safe space”. We do our best to put a spotlight on local performers, small businesses, community organizations, and voter registration efforts. Like many of our other events, our goal is to foster community growth (both social & economic) and to connect community members to resources they may not have otherwise known about – all while having a great time.

2017 ROCHESTER BLACK PRIDE SCHEDULE:
Opening Reception Featuring MOCHA Art Gallery
7:00pm – 11:00pm
Location: 60 Brown Race
Held in downtown Rochester, Folks will have the opportunity to see designs and models of the entire rainbow walk the runway while guests enjoy hors d’oeuvres.
Club MOCHA Day Party
4:00pm – 7:00pm
Location: 189 N. Water Street
Each year we always make sure that we have a few events geared towards the youth(13-20) and their development. The Club MOCHA Day party provides that safe space where attendees can come in, unwind after a long week and take advantage of all MOCHA has to offer. There will be music, prizes, refreshments, games, and a discussions lounge.
The Get Down: Old School Party
8:00pm – Midnight
This “Old School” party pays homage to that crowd and celebrates our elders. This night features food, happy hour specials, nostalgic memorabilia, and a DJ playing the greatest hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. We are talking about everything from the hustle and bust stop, to the cabbage patch and classic vogue.

The Vogue Rochester Brand was created back in November 2014 as a way to provide more safe spaces for the Black Queer & LGBT community in Rochester. Community members are able to engage in friendly competition with one another in a variety of different categories for cash prizes and then dance to their favorite music. The event is hosted by local commentator and performer, Peachez, who electrifies the room as soon as he grabs the mic. Accompanied by 2 DJs, musical performances, and special guests, this event has quickly become a community favorite that draws hundreds of people from across the region.
Mocha Workshop: Sexual Pleasure & Health

Our interactive and educational workshops are a part of our commitment to uplift, encourage and inspire members of our community to their highest sense of self. Keeping in line with our “for us, by us” montra, we seek to invite other Black Queer or Trans identified individuals from around the region who specialize in different disciplines to come and facilitate the sessions.
1st Annual Trans* Brunch

*Trans Exclusive Event*
Exclusive Trans only space where community members can come together to build with one another. Complimentary food and drinks will be served and some community awards will be given out. Guests are able to bring a puls 1 to the event.
Cocktails & Conversations: Open Mic
7:00pm – 11:00pm
Location: Side Bar – 242 South Ave
This is a happy hour space created for the black and queer community to come out and have healthy discussions about the issues facing our community. A film screening of black and queer films/shows usually accompanies the event, followed by a talk-show style discussion. This night provides a safe space for spoken word, singers, movement performers, and artists across generations to express themselves and showcase their talents.
Women Of Color: 50 Shades of Blue

This is an all inclusive nightclub style event that is focused around black queer femme, trans and lesbian culture. All too often during Pride events women & femmes are overshadowed in favor of a more male dominated theme. Since the beginning our collective has made a conscientious decision to change that narrative in terms of both leadership and delivery. We will also be highlighting some of the great female performers, drag kings, musical artists and DJs from around the region.
Roc Da House: The After Party

Black Pride Festival

The biggest party thus far featuring the one and only Queen Diva of Bounce, Big Freedia! The space is HUGE, the drinks will be flowing and the whole room will be shaking! Doors open at 9:00pm and the show starts at 10:30pm!

This free and catered event welcomes guests, friends and families for a relaxing day of music, BBQ and good ole fashioned “fun in the sun”. As our last chance to hang out with and say goodbye to our family from near & far, this event reaffirms our sense of community and fellowship. Together we are fearless, beautiful, capable, and with each other we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.
Shake It Up Sundays
